Here's the study behind this

Over seven years, we tracked the activity from over 465,000 Vitality members.

Members that got active - and stayed active - reduced their risk of death by up to 57% in comparison to members who didn't track any activity.

This is the same as increasing their life expectancy by up to five years 1.

And, the study was independently peer reviewed by London School of Economics (LSE).

And the good news doesn't stop there...

All activity has an impact

Even members who got active just one or two days a week saw an increase in life expectancy over two years

Age doesn't matter

Improvements in life expectancy is shown to be similar for a range of ages, from 30 to 70 years old

More activity, bigger increase

Members who achieved the equivalent of 10,000 steps, five days a week saw the biggest increase in their life expectancy 3

It's never too late to make a change

Our member, Annette, shares how Vitality helped her to commit to healthy habits

Annette's story

'It was a lightbulb moment'

When her financial adviser recommended Vitality life insurance with Optimiser, it offered much more than just the protection she needed.

After initially tracking her steps, she joined her local swimming pool, and ran her first 5k. She hasn't looked back since.

Annette believes she is far healthier now at 60, than she was in her early 50s.
