The Amazon Prime benefit with Vitality is ending soon

Due to changes in how Amazon Prime vouchers are issued through our business partnership, we can no longer offer the benefit. As such, the Amazon Prime benefit will be removed from the Vitality Programme on 15 January 2024.

Rest assured, we’ll be re-investing in exciting enhancements to the Vitality Programme in 2024 to continue helping members move their health forward and further amplify our ability to bring out meaningful and lasting behaviour change.

Stay active and be rewarded with Amazon Prime

Prime is an annual membership that lets their clients send, stream, shop, read and more:

Unlimited streaming of thousands of films and TV shows with Prime Video
Unlimited access to a growing selection of over 2 million songs with Prime Music
Early access to Lightning Deals on Amazon.co.uk with Prime
Early Access Secure unlimited photo storage with Prime Photos
The ability to share selected Prime benefits with other members of the household with Amazon Household
Unlimited reading on any device including thousands of books, magazines and more with Prime Reading

To enjoy Amazon Prime, your client will need to sign up for this benefit before midnight on 14 January 2024.

Please note, your clients will be agreeing to a consumer credit agreement (0% APR) to set up a variable Direct Debit for 12 months. If they already have a loan agreement with etika Finance UK Ltd, they'll need to add their Prime loan application to their existing account, otherwise it could be declined.

Existing members and plans

Answering your questions about clients who want to, or have already, redeemed our Amazon Prime benefit

They can do this on the Vitality Member app.

When they apply, they’ll need to take out a 12-month interest-free loan to the value of their Prime membership, with our finance partner etika, and pass a credit check before midnight 14 January 2024.

They’ll then receive a unique Prime membership code and their 14-day cooling off period will begin. This is valid for both their Prime membership and their loan agreement.

At this point they'll have two options:

Wait 14 days to reveal their code
Reveal their code straight away – this will waive their 14-day cooling off period with Vitality. They will not be able to return their Prime membership code once its revealed.

To activate their Prime membership, follow the link to Amazon.co.uk and enter their unique Prime membership code.

To get Prime through Vitality Active Rewards, your clients will need to have one of the following Vitality plans:

VitalityHealth

VitalityHealth Personal Healthcare plans with a minimum monthly premium from £38
VitalityHealth Business Healthcare plans excluding members with Vitality at Work
VitalityHealth Corporate Healthcare plans and trust schemes administered by VitalityHealth, with the benefit of Vitality Plus

VitalityLife

The reward is limited to one Vitality member aged 18 and over per household.

If they have an active Prime membership, they can switch to a Prime membership with Vitality 21 days before their existing membership ends. So it's best to apply just before that date.

However, if they want to activate a Prime membership with Vitality now, their current Prime membership will simply extend by the length of their current membership, which could be up to 12 months.

Closure of the Amazon Prime benefit with Vitality

We're here to answer your questions about the removal of Amazon Prime from the Vitality Programme

Their current Amazon Prime membership with Vitality remains unaffected. If their Amazon Prime renewal date is on or after 15 January 2024, they will not be able to renew their Amazon Prime membership with Vitality once it expires.

Should they wish to renew or cancel, they can do this directly with Amazon Prime, by visiting their Prime membership page. If they do not wish to renew, they should check whether auto-renewal is switched off to prevent being charged.

Your clients can enjoy our Amazon Prime benefit when they have one of the following plans:

This benefit applies to an annual (12-month) Amazon Prime membership only. This one year Prime membership benefit can only be applied to a personal Amazon.co.uk account. It cannot be applied to a Prime Student or Amazon Business account. There is no Vitality discount on an Amazon Prime monthly membership, and it cannot be used in conjunction with any other Amazon Prime offers. Only one Vitality member aged 18 or over per household can receive the Amazon Prime benefit. Eligibility for this offer is subject to financial circumstances and status. Your client will need to pass a credit check and agree to a 12-month online consumer credit agreement (0% APR) with the lender. Your client will pay £0 or £7.90 per month over ten months by variable Direct Debit, based on the Vitality activity points they earn. If they’re unable to maintain their payment contributions the lender reserves the right to cancel their credit agreement. If your client cancels their Vitality plan and hasn't completed their payment contributions under the credit agreement, their credit agreement with the lender will continue under the terms of that agreement. From time to time we change the way we award points for tracking physical activity, but your client will always be able to claim the monthly saving by getting active.
